The
Fremont Veterans Memorial
On
behalf of the American GI Forum, I would like to thank
everyone for the extremely generous monetary contributions
that made the construction and November 11 dedication of the
Veterans Memorial in Fremont a reality. It
never could have happened without the patriotic support you
displayed to ensure that our veterans will never be forgotten,
and to those equally motivated county of Alameda personnel who
gave their time and skills in the construction of the
memorial.
If
you were in the audience, you will agree that the U.S. Marine
Flag Detail provided by retired Col. Richard Klemmer, United
States Marine Corps, and the American High School band under
the direction of Richard Wong, made the dedication so
memorable. It
never could have happened without your patriotic community
spirit. This beautiful memorial will be honored and admired as
a tribute to those who proudly served their country, past,
present and future, in all branches of the services.
