This is Julio Navarrete, chairman of Dr. Hector P. Garcia Youth Chapter in San Jose. I am writing this letter to formally introduce myself as the 2003-2004 California State Youth Chairman. As you may already know, the 2004 California State Conference will be held here in San Jose, California. I truly hope that my board and I can put together a great program for the youth in California, but I also know that we cannot do it without your help. I am asking for ideas, suggestions or comments for fundraisers and for activities for our State Conference, any help is greatly appreciated. This is my call, I am calling out for your help, especially the nearby chapters; San Jose Youth, Generation “X”, and East Valley. This is the time to unite; together we can be stronger than ever. “Education is our freedom and freedom should be everybody’s business”

One of my goals for this year is to see us, the youth of the GI Forum, unite. Although we are part of different chapters, we are all part of the same organization and we all have the same belief; the belief that “education is our freedom and freedom should be everybody’s business.” To facilitate this goal, I have included the contact information for every youth chapter in California. I have also included a copy of the National Youth Bylaws so that we can all stand on the same page. If any information is incorrect please let me know. Also, I want the email addresses of the youth chairs. I will keep you updated on all the activities happening in Dr. Hector P. Garcia Youth Chapter and with any news from the State Youth.

Everyone is welcome to attend the activities of Dr. Hector P. Garcia Youth Chapter. I hope that you too can keep us updated on the happenings in your chapter. I look forward to a fun and active year.
